81 candidates in fray for bypolls to eight Assembly seats in Gujarat

 

An absolute 81 up-and-comers are in

the conflict for by-races to eight seats in Gujarat to be hung on November 3, the Election Commission said on Tuesday.

By-races in Abdasa, Limbdi, Morbi, Dhari, Gadhada, Karjan, Dang and Kaprada seats were required after the sitting Congress MLAs surrendered.

Monday was the last date for withdrawal of designation structures.

Out of 102 assignments got by the EC for eight seats, 21 structures were pulled back till Monday, leaving 81 applicants in the quarrel, a delivery from the workplace of the Chief Electoral Officer said.

Limbdi has the most elevated number of 14 competitors, while Kaprada, saved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) up-and-comers, has the least number of four applicants.

According to the delivery, 12 applicants each are in the conflict in Morbi and Gadhada seats, trailed by 11 in Dhari, 10 in Abdasa, and nine each in Karjan and Dang.

Applicants of the decision BJP and the resistance Congress are set in opposition to one another in all the eight seats. The Bharatiya Tribal Party has additionally handled two applicants - in Dang, which is held for ST up-and-comers, and Karjan.

Lesser-realized outfits like the Bahujan Maha Party, Bahujan Mukti Party, Bharatiya Jana Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Rajarya Sabha, All India Majlish-e-Inqulab-e-Millat, Rashtravadi Jana Chetna, Yuva Jan Jagruti, Vyavastha Parivartan Party, and Rashtriya Jankranti Party have additionally handled a couple of up-and-comers in a portion of the seats.

The BJP has handled Pradyumnsinh Jadeja (Abdasa), Kiritsinh Rana (Limbdi), Brijesh Merja (Morbi), J V Kakadiya (Dhari), Atmaram Parmar (Gadhada), Akshay Patel (Karjan), Vijay Patel (Dang) and Jitubhai Chaudhary (Kaprada).

These applicants incorporate five previous Congress MLAs who left the resistance and joined the BJP.

The Congress contender for the bypolls are Shantilal Sendhani (Abdasa), Chetan Khachar (Limbdi), Jayantilal Patel (Morbi), Suresh Kotadiya (Dhari), Mohan Solanki (Gadhada), Kiritsinh Jadeja (Karjan), Suryakant Gavit (Dang) and Babubhai Patel (Kaprada).
