21-yr-old Sini Shetty from Karnataka crowned Femina Miss India 2022

 




Sini Shetty on Sunday came out on top for the championship of Femina Miss India 2022. Shetty will currently address India at the 71st Miss World exhibition. Shetty, 21, was delegated Femina Miss India World 2022 by her ancestor Miss India 2020, Manasa Varanasi at JIO World Convention Center in Mumbai.

Hailing from Karnataka, Shetty was brought into the world in Mumbai in 2001. The 21-yr-old, who holds a four year college education in bookkeeping and supporting, is presently chasing after a course in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Tamil Nadu adds more new entry level jobs despite slowdown in auto sector

Despite a slowdown in the automobile sector, which has led to production cuts in factories in and around Chennai, Tamil Nadu has added new jobs, in the 18-21 years category, and has emerged as the second largest generator of employment after Karnataka.
During the year 2018-19, Karnataka ranked first in new payroll addition with 265,827 people coming under the ambit of EPFO, as compared to 260,699 people from Tamil Nadu. Maharashtra continued to see the largest net new payroll addition in this period. Maharashtra saw a net new payroll addition of 531,060 in 2018-19 and the number stood at 2,44,166 in the April to July, 2019, period.
According to data released by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in September, 2019, net new payroll addition, in the age group of 18 to 21 years, in Tamil Nadu during July, 2019, was 44,311. During the period from April to July, the total net new payroll addition was 150,835, compared to 127,731 net payroll addition in Karnataka during the same period.
A senior official of the state government said that since Tamil Nadu was the second largest economy in the country and number one in terms of number of factories and workers, the growth in terms of new employment creation was on expected lines.

 "In 2019, we have seen a slew of investments coming in. Out of the many Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the Global Investors Meet, foundation stones of around 37 projects have been laid and work on these projects has begun. In the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) space, around 2,300 units have started production. A lot of investment has also come in apart from that committed under the MoUs. BJP stakes claim to form Karnataka govt; Yeddy to take oath as CM at 6 pm

Karnataka BJP President BS Yeddyurappa met Governor Vajubhai Vala today to stake claim to form the government in the state, and request him to administer oath.
According to reports, Yeddyurappa will be sworn in as Chief Minister of Karnataka at 6 pm today.
The development came after the 14-month-old Congress-JDS coalition government headed by HD Kumaraswamy collapsed on Tuesday after losing the vote of confidence in the Assembly in a climax to the three-week long intense power struggle.Karnataka Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar on Thursday had disqualified three rebel Congress MLAs under the anti-defection law.
The H D Kumaraswamy-led Congress-JD(S) government fell on Tuesday after it secured only 99 votes against the BJP’s 105 in the Karnataka Assembly.
This brought an end to the 12-day high-voltage political drama which had begun in the state with the resignation of over a dozen JD(S) and Congress MLAs who alleged lack of stability in the coalition to Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar.
Earlier, Yeddyurappa had said he was waiting for instructions from his party leadership on the formation of the government in Karnataka following the fall of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government.

UAE to invest in refining, petrochemical projects, oil storage in India

Betting big on rising oil demand in the world's third largest energy consumer, oil-rich UAE it is looking at investing more in refining and petrochemical projects as well as stocking more crude in India.

UAE's Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) and its partner Saudi Aramco have jointly taken a 50 per cent stake in the planned $44 billion refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

It has hired space at the underground strategic oil storages built at Mangalore and Padur in Karnataka.
"We are looking at expanding investment portfolio in the downstream sectors (particularly) oil refining and petrochemicals," said Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State in the United Arab Emirates and CEO of the ADNOC.

UAE, he said, is looking to go beyond merely selling crude oil to India and wants to develop a strategic partnership.

"We are only looking at strategic partnership given that we can also bring our own crude," he said. "India is not only an important market for us. India is a very strategic partner."
UAE, he said, is looking to expand its cooperation with India and it will look at enhancing avenues of cooperation.

The minister was talking to reporters after receiving Lifetime achievement award at the Petrotech Conference from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
